Mom In Balance

FAQ

  • When you are registered for a workout, the trainer expects your attendance. Can't make it?

    • Cancel at least one hour in advance if you are unable to attend

    • For a once-a-week subscription, you will receive a credit

    • Cancelling too late? Unfortunately, no credit will be granted

  • At Mom in Balance, we work with catch-up workouts (previously called credits). You can use these to reschedule a missed workout at another time, helping you stay consistent with your workout routine.

    What’s changing?
We are gradually transitioning to a new system that will go live at the end of summer 2026. Here’s what already applies from now on:

    • Do you currently have more than 8 catch-up workouts? You can still use them as usual.

    • Once you go below 8 catch-up workouts, you will no longer build up more than 8.

    • Do you currently have extra catch-up workouts? Use them over the coming months to enjoy some extra workouts.

What are the benefits of the new system?
The new system includes several improvements:

    • Automatic catch-up workouts when Mom in Balance cancels a workout — you don’t need to do anything yourself.

    • Use them up to 2 weeks in advance. Already know you’ll miss a future workout? You can schedule another one ahead of time. Perfect for holidays or busy weeks.

    • One switch trial workout per year. Try a different workout without using your regular weekly workout entitlement.

    How does it work now?

1x per week membership: You are entitled to 1 workout per week. If you cancel on time (more than one hour before the workout), you immediately receive a catch-up workout.

Unlimited membership: You can book unlimited workouts and do not build up catch-up workouts.

How will it work in the new system?

    1x per week membership:

    • You will automatically be scheduled for your regular weekly workout. Your weekly workout entitlement is immediately used for this booking.

    • If you cancel (more than one hour in advance), you immediately receive a catch-up workout.

    • If Mom in Balance cancels the workout, you also immediately receive a catch-up workout.

    • If you do not have a fixed workout and do not schedule anything that week, you will automatically receive a catch-up workout at the end of the week.

    • You can build up a maximum of 8 catch-up workouts. Each catch-up workout is valid for 3 months and will automatically expire afterward.

    • Do you have more than 8 catch-up workouts during the transition? You can still keep them, but the 3-month validity also applies to these.

    Unlimited membership:

    • Nothing changes for you. You can continue booking unlimited workouts and do not build up catch-up workouts.

    • If you cancel a workout, your spot becomes available again and you can simply book another workout.

Good to know: catch-up workouts are intended as temporary flexibility, not to be saved up indefinitely. You use them during an active membership, and the system automatically keeps track of everything for you.

Are catch-up workouts the same as credits?
Yes. The name “credits” is changing to “catch-up workouts” — clearer, because that’s exactly what they are intended for.

    When do I receive a catch-up workout?
With a 1x per week membership, you receive a catch-up workout when you cancel a workout on time (more than one hour in advance), when your regular workout is cancelled by Mom in Balance, or when you have not scheduled a workout for that week.

With an unlimited membership, you do not build up catch-up workouts for unused weeks. If you cancel a workout, your spot becomes available again and you can simply book another workout.

What is the validity of a catch-up workout?
A catch-up workout is valid from 2 weeks before the original workout date until 3 months after that date. This means you can already schedule a catch-up workout in advance, while the validity period only starts from the original workout date itself.

In which order are my catch-up workouts used?
The system automatically uses your oldest catch-up workout first, so they do not expire unnecessarily.

    When do I receive a catch-up workout?
You immediately receive a catch-up workout when you cancel on time (more than one hour before the workout) or when a workout is cancelled by Mom in Balance. If you cancel too late, the workout is forfeited and you will not receive a catch-up workout.

Can I use catch-up workouts without an active membership?
No. Catch-up workouts are linked to an active membership.

Can I use my catch-up workouts during a membership freeze?
No. During a freeze, your membership is temporarily inactive.
Afterward, you can use your catch-up workouts again as usual.

What happens to my catch-up workouts if I cancel my membership?
Catch-up workouts expire when your membership ends. They are intended to be used while you are an active member.

Can I keep my catch-up workouts if I cancel my membership and reactivate later?
No. Catch-up workouts expire upon cancellation and are not saved for later use. If you restart your membership, you will start building them up again from scratch.

How do I know how many catch-up workouts I have?
In the updated app, you can easily view this information. In the current system, you can find it via: Settings (gear icon) → Membership.

Can I transfer my catch-up workouts to someone else?

Yes, as an extra service, until the transition you may use your catch-up workout to gift someone else a workout. Please contact us via info@mominbalance.com.

    Transition to the new system

Why are you making this change now?
We are switching to a new system at the end of summer 2026. Over the years, the current system started functioning differently than intended — the maximum of 15 credits encouraged saving them up and created confusion. With this adjustment, we are returning to the original idea: consistent workouts, with flexibility to catch up when needed.

What happens to my current catch-up workouts?
Your current catch-up workouts will remain valid. Do you have more than 8? You can still use them as usual. Once you go below 8, you will no longer build up more than 8.

What happens during the transition to the new system?
All your catch-up workouts will transfer to the new system. They will receive a validity period of 3 months and there will be a maximum of 8 catch-up workouts. After that, unused catch-up workouts will automatically expire.

What happens if I still have more than 8 catch-up workouts after the transition?
You can still use them. New catch-up workouts will only be accumulated up to a maximum of 8.

    About the new system

Why can’t I save up unlimited catch-up workouts?
Catch-up workouts are intended as temporary flexibility, not as a savings system. Unlimited accumulation encourages postponing workouts and impacts the scheduling and group availability. A clear validity period keeps the system manageable and transparent.

Why is the maximum changing to 8?
In the past, the maximum was 4 catch-up workouts. During COVID, we intentionally offered more flexibility, which unintentionally grew to 15. A maximum of 8 still offers sufficient flexibility while keeping the system clear and fair.

Can catch-up workouts be paid out in cash?
No. Catch-up workouts do not have financial value. They are a service intended to make up for missed workouts.

I have limited space in my schedule for extra workouts. What can I do?
Consider trying a different day, time, or location, or a period when your schedule allows for more flexibility. If you need help, feel free to contact us — we’re happy to think along with you.
